Answers to your questions
Q: What cards work with our ATMs?
A: We accept most bank Debit cards and are working now to secure
the balance.
Q: What do I get from having an ATM on my site?
A: Overseas experience is that foot traffic increases with uplifting revenue typically in 11 - 17% range. This is generally due to increased discretionary
spend and impulse buying. Your staff can now spend all their time
focusing on the sale of your products, customers have a reduced waiting time
for service. There is increased security for your cash till float and the benefit of reduced cost of
cash handling fees. In our revenue share arrangement, the ATM transactions
can earn you a revenue stream, especially in high profile, high foot traffic
locations and ATM advertising can provide many flow-on benefits including increase
of impulse spending and increased foot fall.
Q: I already have EFTPOS, why do I need an ATM?
A: EFTPOS is widespread but does not provide a share of transaction
revenue to the retailer and > 30% of retail transactions are still cash. Many customers want to know how much they have to spend, this avoids having an EFTPOS transaction declined. International experience shows that discretionary spend increases when cash is used as payment. ATMs and EFTPOS do different things for different business types.
Q: What is the difference between an ATM Plus Machine and a bank ATM?
A: The main difference is simply the ATM is not owned by a bank and the cash in the ATM is not supplied by the bank. ATM Plus deploys lobby style machines so the ATM is designed to be located inside the business premises. Customers pay a convenience fee to use the machine, the screen will display the fee and the customer will have to accept the charge to continue with the transaction. ATM Plus has access to the ATMs specially
designed for the convenience ATM market. The switch and the connection to it
are just like EFTPOS but use secure GPRS to communicate. Access to the switch
is secure using the latest and best security techniques i.e. 3DES and EMV. The
ATM has Tamper Resistant Encrypted PIN PAD to new PCI standard.
Q:Is it as secure as a bank ATM?
A: Our manufacturer, Nautilus Hyosung, supply ATMs to financial institutions in many countries around the world. Our model has to meet the same global security standards as a bank ATM. The PIN PAD has Tamper Resistant Encryption to the global PCI standard. Access to the switch is secure using the latest and best security techniques. IE: 3DES and EMV. The switch and the connection to it are just like EFTPOS but use secure GPRS to communicate. The ATM has a dip-style reader.
Q: How long will it be for the installation of my ATM machine?
A: We aim for 1 - 2 weeks from acceptance of your application. The actual installation
usually takes between 2 and 3 hours as we have to load special security keys
at install and provide on-site training.
Q: What do I need to provide for my ATM?
A: You are responsible to provide the cash float and the ongoing power to the ATM. It is also your obgliation to maintain a sufficient supply of cash in the ATM during your business hours. You're also responsible to insure the ATM against theft, damage to or destruction of the ATM whilst it is on your premises. The site owner is expected to perform routine maintenance. eg: change the receipt paper.
The machine should be located in a easily visible place
so that customers can see it when entering the store. The machine needs to be
close to a dedicated power point. Our preferred modem communication is over
GPRS, so is dependent on Vodafone’s GSM network coverage. Dial-up is available
as a back up, if there is no GSM coverage. Our representative will
discuss the best location with you when you meet with them. The site owner is
expected to perform routine maintenance e.g. change receipt paper.
Q: Who provides the cash for the ATM?
A: You will use your cash float to fill the machine. As the ATM substitutes your cash with EFTPOS transactions. The ATM
contains a business hours safe. The safe can contain up
to three cassettes holding approx 2,000 notes each in single or multiple note denomination. ATM Plus can also offer a
managed cash service, via Armourguard, ranging from simple delivery of bank
grade notes through a fully managed service including banking, if required.
Q: So how do I get my money back?
A: Transactions are processed by Paymark ( ETSL ) using the current EFTPOS network links and settled by Westpac daily. Each night the cash withdrawn is credited back to your nominated account. The ATM can be set either to auto close or manual close. Our representative will work with you to determine the right sized float for
your business. Your share of the convenience fees will be credited to your account
monthly in arrears on the 20th of the month following.
Q: What about physical security of the ATM and the cash in it?
A: The ATM is bolted to the floor of your premises. Our standard ATM contains a BUSINESS hours safe. Each night the cash should be removed from the ATM and stored in your onsite safe. We recommend leaving the safe door open so the empty safe is visible.
in addition we can offer an ATM with a Level 1 vault to leave your money in the machine overnight and this will meet your insurers requirements.
Q: Can the machine dispense too much money?
A: No, our machines have the latest cassette control mechanisms
and use advanced sensors to detect note dispensing. They are very accurate,
occasionally two notes will be stuck together, in that case the notes are deposited
into a reject bin.
Q: How are faults resolved?
A: In the event of any queries or technical issues, we operate a 24/7 Help Desk ( 0508 428 675 ) providing Level 1 and level 2 support. The ATM has remote monitoring capabilities and our diagnostic tools allow us to address many issues remotely without the need for onsite attendance. In the event a service call is required, we have Nationwie technical support.
